About this Lens
The Tamron 70-180mm F2.8 Di III VC VXD (Sony E fit) is a fast-aperture telephoto zoom lens for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, known for being among the smallest and lightest in the F2.8 telephoto zoom class at 855g and 156.5mm in length. It features VXD linear motor autofocus for fast, quiet, and precise focusing, VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization for handheld shooting, and a moisture-resistant construction with fluorine coating. The optical design uses special elements including XLD, LD, and aspherical lenses with BBAR-G2 coating to reduce aberrations, ghosting, and flare, while the F2.8 aperture produces soft background bokeh. Additional features include a 67mm filter diameter, close minimum object distance of 0.85m, USB-C compatibility with Tamron's Lens Utility software, and a zoom lock switch.
