About this Camera
The Sony ECM-B1M is an ultra-compact camera-mount digital shotgun microphone designed for use with Sony cameras equipped with the Multi Interface Shoe. It uses eight high-performance mic units with beamforming to offer three selectable directivity patterns—supercardioid, cardioid, and omnidirectional—and features a selectable digital/analog output for compatibility with a wide range of Sony cameras. Its cable-free connection draws power through the shoe while suppressing handling noise, and it includes a digital low-cut filter, record level control, and attenuator. A fur windscreen is supplied to reduce wind noise during outdoor recording.
