The Sigma 56mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary is a medium telephoto prime lens for Fujifilm X-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras, offering an 84mm full-frame equivalent focal length and a bright f/1.4 maximum aperture. It is known for producing sharp images with smooth background blur, making it well suited to portraits, street photography, and low-light shooting. The lens features a 10-element, 6-group optical design with a 9-bladed rounded diaphragm, a 50cm minimum focusing distance, silent stepping-motor autofocus compatible with eye detection, and a compact, lightweight build of approximately 280 grams. It takes 55mm filters and, unlike native Fujifilm XF primes, has no physical aperture ring, with aperture adjusted via the camera's command dials.
