The lens offers inner zoom and inner focusing, minimized focus breathing, a de-clickable aperture ring, and a dust and splash-resistant magnesium alloy and TSC barrel weighing 1,335g. Its 77mm filter thread, 11-blade rounded diaphragm, and close minimum focusing distance of 65cm at the wide end make it suited for sports, wildlife, and event photography.
