About this Lens

The Pentax SMC Pentax-DA* 300mm f/4 ED [IF] SDM is a super-telephoto prime lens for Pentax K-mount APS-C DSLRs, offering a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 460mm. It uses two ED (extra-low dispersion) glass elements to minimize chromatic and spherical aberrations, delivering high-contrast, sharp images across the frame. Autofocus is driven by a built-in supersonic motor (SDM) for quiet, smooth operation, and an inner-focus design allows a 1.4m minimum focusing distance with a non-rotating front element compatible with polarizing filters. The lens features a sealed, dust-resistant and drip-proof construction intended for outdoor use, and includes a dedicated lens hood.
